Highlights
- Capri: a stop at the famous island in the Bay of Naples.
- Ischia and Procida: the volcanic islands off Naples.
- Ponza: the quiet gem of the Pontine Islands.
- Costa Smeralda: arriving on Sardinia’s north-east coast.
A yacht voyage with beautiful stops for watersports and time ashore, but also longer legs sailed in part through the night. For everyone who enjoys the sailing itself.
The Route
Salerno
7 nights
Golfo di Marinella
How the route could go:
-
Salerno · Embarkation
On the Tyrrhenian Sea south of Naples, Salerno is the gateway to the Amalfi Coast with Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. The medieval Schola Medica Salernitana was Europe's first medical school, and the Arechi Castle offers panoramic views over the gulf.
-
Capri
Capri offers the Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra) - a sea cave glowing with luminous cobalt-blue reflections - as its best-known attraction. Up in Anacapri, the chairlift to Monte Solaro rewards visitors with sweeping views over Naples, Vesuvius and the Campanian coast.
-
Procida (Procida)
Procida in the Gulf of Naples was Italy's "Capital of Culture 2022" and is one of the most colourful island harbour towns in Europe. The pastel-coloured fishermen's houses at Marina di Corricella were the setting for "The Talented Mr. Ripley" and "Il Postino".
-
Ischia (Ischia)
Ischia in the Gulf of Naples is Italy's "green volcanic island" with hot thermal springs, the Castello Aragonese on its own islet, and the extensive Giardini La Mortella. More family-friendly and quieter than Capri across the bay.
-
Ponza
Ponza is the largest of the Pontine Islands off the coast of Lazio. Turquoise grottoes, steep pumice cliffs and a small lively harbour village make it a hidden favourite of the Tyrrhenian yachting world.
-
Costa Smeralda (Sardinia)
The Costa Smeralda on Sardinia's northern coast is one of the most expensive stretches of coastline in the world. Turquoise water, white granite rocks and the marina of Porto Cervo make the area a glamorous Mediterranean retreat.
-
Golfo di Marinella (Sardinia) · Disembarkation
The Golfo di Marinella lies on the north-eastern coast of Sardinia, close to Porto Rotondo and the fashionable Costa Smeralda. Pink-tinged granite outcrops, pine groves and turquoise bays define this stretch of coast.
The route of a sailing voyage may change without giving rise to mutual claims.
