Impressions of the Silver Nova
Nova Class: A Different Architecture
Silver Nova entered service in 2023 as the first of the Nova class, introducing a structural idea that marks a genuine departure from previous Silversea ships. Where older vessels are arranged in the conventional cruise-ship manner – a tower of decks with suites facing outward from the sides – the Nova class uses a horizontal layout in which public spaces and suites are distributed across a broader, lower structure. The result is a different relationship between inside and outside: more panoramic windows, longer sight lines from the water, and suites on the upper levels that achieve 270-degree views across the bow and sea simultaneously.
728 guests travel in 12 suite categories with a crew of 544, maintaining a ratio that supports the butler service standard Silversea applies across the fleet.
Dining: Nine Venues
Silver Nova carries nine dining venues – one more than the Muse-class ships – covering a range from the all-day Restaurant through speciality rooms and outdoor options. The Marquee, an outdoor dining venue, is exclusive to the Nova class and operates weather-permitting on open decks. S.A.L.T. Kitchen, S.A.L.T. Bar, Silver Note, Kaiseki, La Dame, La Terrazza, Spaccanapoli, and the Grill round out the complement. All venues are included; no restaurant charges a cover fee.
Accommodation
The 12 suite categories include several exclusive to the Nova class. The Otium Suite is positioned at the forward end of the upper structure with 270-degree views – arguably the most panoramic suite accommodation available on any premium vessel. Master Suites and Signature Suites add further top-tier options. All suites include butler service, veranda or outdoor space, and the full Silversea inclusive package – drinks, Wi-Fi, gratuities.
The pool deck is the largest in the Silversea fleet relative to guest count, a direct result of the horizontal design philosophy.
S.A.L.T. and On-Board Culture
The S.A.L.T. programme on Silver Nova operates across Kitchen, Bar, and Lab as on the Muse-class ships, with destination-driven menus and cookery sessions. What the Nova class adds is a physical design that integrates indoor and outdoor spaces more deliberately throughout the ship, so the connection to the sea and the destination is present beyond the S.A.L.T. spaces alone.
Itineraries
Silver Nova sails global routes from the Mediterranean and Northern Europe through the Caribbean, South America, and beyond. As the newest large ship in the fleet, she tends to anchor the more prominent seasonal programmes and high-profile departure dates.
