The Route

The exact route is set by the expedition team on site, depending on ice and weather:

Flight included – this voyage is offered as a complete package with charter or scheduled flight, transfers and accommodation. See "Package Voyage" below for details.

  • Montreal · Embarkation

Montréal combines European flair with North American energy. The old town Vieux-Montréal with the Notre-Dame Basilica, Mont Royal as the green lung, and the cosmopolitan food culture (Canadian smoked meat, French-Canadian patisserie) make Montréal unique.

  • Saguenay River

The Saguenay is a fjord river in the Canadian province of Quebec.

  • Saint Lawrence River

The Saint Lawrence River links the Great Lakes with the Atlantic, flowing through Quebec and Ontario.

  • Saguenay

Saguenay is a city in Quebec on the fjord of the same name, which flows into the St. Lawrence River.

  • Gaspé

Gaspé lies at the tip of the Gaspésie peninsula in the Canadian province of Quebec. The town marks the spot where Jacques Cartier claimed Canada in 1534.

  • Gulf of Saint Lawrence

The Gulf of Saint Lawrence on Canada's Atlantic coast is the estuary region of the Saint Lawrence River.

  • Strait of Belle Isle

The Strait of Belle Isle separates the island of Newfoundland from mainland Labrador.

  • Qaqortoq

Qaqortoq is the largest town in southern Greenland. It lies on a sheltered bay and is known for its colourful houses and stone sculptures throughout the town.

  • Narsarsuaq

Narsarsuaq lies at the head of a fjord in southern Greenland. The town is home to an important airport with North Atlantic connections.

  • Uunartoq

Uunartoq is an uninhabited island in southern Greenland with natural hot springs.

  • Nuuk (Godthåb)

Nuuk is the capital of Greenland on the south-west coast of the island. With around 18,000 inhabitants it is the country's largest town.

  • Nuuk · Disembarkation

Nuuk is the capital of Greenland and, with 19,000 inhabitants, the largest town on the island. The colourful wooden houses by the harbour, the Greenland National Museum with the Qilakitsoq mummies (500 years old, perfectly preserved women and an infant) and the setting between fjords and icebergs make Nuuk unique.

Why ivent-sailing

We know the sea — we have sailed many regions ourselves as skippers.

That is what makes our advice different: we know how geographic conditions shape the maritime experience, how that translates for you as a guest depending on your place on the ship, what sea conditions to expect in which season, what makes a quiet anchor bay special, and which cabin on which ship is worth the upgrade. Our recommendations come from the water, not from a brochure.
