The Voyage

Bergen → Helsinki

From the western fjords to the eastern Baltic over ten nights. Bergen sets the stage at the rim of the Atlantic; the voyage then makes its way through the Skagerrak and Kattegat passage, traces the southern Norwegian coast, calls at Skagen and Visby, and ends in Helsinki. A long, contemplative itinerary that links two very different seas through one elegant ship.

Arrival

Helsinki

Bergen Lysefjord Egersund Kristiansand Visby Stockholm Tallinn Helsinki
8 of 9 ports located · approx. 870 nautical miles
  • Bergen · Embarkation

Bergen is the gateway to Norway's fjords. The colourful wooden houses of Bryggen on the harbour (UNESCO) tell of the Hanseatic era; Mount Fløyen with its funicular offers panoramic views over the seven-hill city.

  • Kreuzen im Lysefjord
  • Egersund

Egersund lies on Norway's southwestern coast and is one of the country's most important fishing ports. The whitewashed timber old town and the nearby Magma Geopark add to the town's appeal.

  • Kristiansand

Kristiansand lies on Norway's southern coast and, with its 17th-century grid layout, is one of the country's youngest cities. Beaches, the zoo and the artists' quarter of Posebyen shape the city.

  • At sea
  • Visby, Gotland

Visby on Gotland is the best-preserved Hanseatic town in Northern Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 3.4-kilometre medieval city wall with 27 towers encloses cobblestone lanes, church ruins from the 12th and 13th centuries and the rose-town flair for which Visby is known.

  • Stockholm

Stockholm sits on 14 islands where Lake Mälaren meets the Baltic. Gamla Stan, the Old Town on one of the islands, and the Vasa Museum with the only fully preserved 17th-century warship are essential stops.

  • Tallinn

Tallinn has the best-preserved medieval old town in Northern Europe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. Toompea Hill with its knights' houses and panoramic terraces overlooks the lower town with the medieval Town Hall Square, Hanseatic merchant houses and the 14th-century Oleviste Tower.
