Saint George's is the capital of Grenada and one of the most picturesque harbour towns in the Caribbean: colourful terraced houses on the slopes, a natural harbour basin and Fort George with panoramic views. Grenada is the "Spice Island" - nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves shape both cuisine and landscape.

Bequia (island)
Bequia is the second-largest of the Grenadines and one of the most unspoilt Caribbean stops. The small boatbuilding tradition (wooden schooners are still built on beach yards today) and the turtle conservation programme are unique.

The Tobago Cays are five uninhabited small islands in the Grenadines, sheltered by a vast coral reef. Turquoise lagoon water, sea turtles for snorkelling and untouched nature make the Tobago Cays perhaps the most beautiful anchorage in the Caribbean.

Soufrière sits at the foot of the UNESCO World Heritage Pitons - the striking volcanic cones that rise sheer from the sea and are the symbol of St Lucia. Hot sulphur springs, tropical rainforest and cocoa plantations surround the small port town. At the nearby Sulphur Springs you drive right up to the steaming sulphur vents in the crater - the world's only drive-in volcano.

The capital of Martinique glows in Caribbean colours, with Creole architecture, lively markets and French cuisine. Particularly striking are the ruins of Saint-Pierre, the "Caribbean Pompeii", buried in 1902 by the eruption of Montagne Pelée.

Cabrits National Park (Dominica)
Cabrits National Park on Dominica covers tropical forest, wetlands and the restored 18th-century ruins of Fort Shirley. Dominica, the "Nature Island of the Caribbean", is one of the least touristically developed countries in the region. Dominica is the only Caribbean island where the indigenous people survived: the Kalinago still live in the Kalinago Territory on the east coast. The national bird, the Sisserou parrot (Imperial Amazon), is found nowhere else on earth and features on the national flag. On this green island people keep a particularly deep connection with nature.
