The Voyage

Oranjestad to Saint George

Ten nights under white sails through the southern Caribbean. From Aruba the Star Clipper links the Dutch ABC islands with the Grenadines and Grenada. A voyage through the calmer waters south of the hurricane belt, with small bays and steady trade winds.

Highlights of the route

  • Oranjestad on Aruba, the Dutch Caribbean town with pastel-coloured architecture and the Arikok National Park
  • Willemstad on Curaçao, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with brightly painted merchant houses in Punda and Otrobanda
  • Canouan in the Grenadines, a small island with two World Heritage reefs
  • Bequia with its whaling tradition and Caribbean authenticity
  • Tobago Cays, a marine park of five uninhabited islands around a reef lagoon with sea turtles
  • Saint George on Grenada, capital of the Spice Island with Fort George and the Annandale and Concord waterfalls in the rainforest

Life on board

The Star Clipper is a classic fully rigged ship with four masts and 16 sails, 170 guests, sporty and unhurried in atmosphere, no dress code, open seating and two pools. Guests are welcome to climb the rigging with the crew or take the helm.

Early booking advantage: Voyages in 2027 fill quickly - premium cabins are often reserved 18-24 months in advance. An early booking enquiry is non-binding and secures your preferred cabin category.

How the route could go:

Oranjestad Willemstad Canouan (island) Tobago Cays (islands) Bequia (island) Charlotteville Mayreau Saint George
8 ports · route · approx. 790 nautical miles
  • Oranjestad (Aruba) · Embarkation

Oranjestad is the capital of Aruba, the driest Caribbean island, with more than 200 days of sunshine a year. Arikok National Park with its cactus landscape and cave paintings, Palm Beach with its fine silver sand and the Alto Vista national monument are Aruba's main attractions.

  • Willemstad (Curaçao)

Willemstad on Curaçao is one of the most vibrant UNESCO World Heritage cityscapes in the Caribbean: the colourful Dutch colonial buildings of the Handelskade are reflected in the harbour - in the 17th century Curaçao was the trading centre of the Dutch Caribbean. Curaçao is also known for the best coral diving in the Lesser Antilles.

  • Canouan (island)

Canouan belongs to the Grenadines of St Vincent and is a small, tranquil island of white sand beaches fringed by a coral reef. Turquoise bays and its intimate scale make it an exclusive retreat.

  • Tobago Cays (islands)

The Tobago Cays are five uninhabited small islands in the Grenadines, sheltered by a vast coral reef. Turquoise lagoon water, sea turtles for snorkelling and untouched nature make the Tobago Cays perhaps the most beautiful anchorage in the Caribbean.

  • Bequia (island)

Bequia is the second-largest of the Grenadines and one of the most unspoilt Caribbean stops. The small boatbuilding tradition (wooden schooners are still built on beach yards today) and the turtle conservation programme are unique.

  • Charlotteville (Tobago)

Charlotteville is a fishing village on sheltered Man o' War Bay at the north-eastern tip of the Caribbean island of Tobago. The deeply indented bay is one of the Caribbean's finest natural harbours, and in the hinterland lies the oldest legally protected rainforest in the western hemisphere.

  • Mayreau

Mayreau is the smallest inhabited island of the Grenadines. Salt Whistle Bay - a perfect crescent of beach with crystal-clear water - is considered one of the finest bays in the Caribbean.

  • Saint George · Disembarkation

Saint George's is the capital of Grenada and one of the most picturesque harbour towns in the Caribbean: colourful terraced houses on the slopes, a natural harbour basin and Fort George with panoramic views. Grenada is the "Spice Island" - nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves shape both cuisine and landscape.

The route of a sailing voyage may change without giving rise to mutual claims.
