Buenos Aires, the "Paris of South America", is shaped by European architecture, tango milongas in the Caminito alley of La Boca and the Café Tortoni - the oldest coffee house on the continent. The Recoleta Cemetery with Evita Perón's grave is one of the most extraordinary cemeteries in the world.

Montevideo, South America's most relaxed capital, links the Rambla (waterfront promenade) with the Ciudad Vieja - colonial architecture, Uruguayan asado culture and one of the continent's oldest markets (Mercado del Puerto). The wine regions of Canelones and Colonia del Sacramento are ideal for excursions.

  • FRI · 18 Feb 2028
    Punta del Este
    Arrival 08:00 Departure 23:00

On a peninsula on the southern Atlantic coast of Uruguay where the Río de la Plata meets the Atlantic, this glamorous beach resort styles itself as South America's St Tropez. The striking sculpture La Mano, five giant fingers reaching out of the sand by Chilean artist Mario Irarrázabal, is its hallmark.

  • TUE · 22 Feb 2028
    Paranaguá
    Arrival 08:00 Departure 17:00

In the southern Brazilian state of Paraná on a sheltered Atlantic bay, this port handles the largest soy throughput in Latin America. The colonial old town with cobbled lanes and an 18th-century Jesuit college contrasts with the modern loading cranes.

  • WED · 23 Feb 2028
    Ilhabela
    Arrival 09:00 Departure 22:00

Off the Atlantic coast of the Brazilian state of São Paulo rises the mountainous island of Ilhabela with peaks up to 1,300 metres. Ilha Grande
    Arrival 08:00 Departure 18:00

Off the coast of the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro lies the tropical island of Ilha Grande in the Atlantic, south of Angra dos Reis. The former convict prison is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and nature park with over 100 beaches such as Lopes Mendes, dense Atlantic rainforest and a completely car-free island culture.

  • FRI · 25 Feb 2028
    Buzios
    Arrival 08:00 Departure 18:00

Búzios is a slender peninsula about 170 kilometres north-east of Rio de Janeiro, with more than 20 beaches tucked into hidden coves. Brigitte Bardot put the former fishing village on the world map in the 1960s, and it remains the glamorous Brazilian answer to Saint-Tropez.

  • SAT · 26 Feb 2028
    Rio de Janeiro
    Arrival 08:00

Rio de Janeiro's setting is unique in the world: Sugarloaf Mountain and Corcovado with Christ the Redeemer (UNESCO World Heritage) rise out of a sea of tropical Atlantic forest.
