The Voyage

Iberian Atlantic coast from and to Lisbon

Ten nights aboard Silver Ray sail from and to Lisbon along the Iberian Atlantic coast and into the western Mediterranean. The 728-guest vessel, Silversea's newest class, combines asymmetric open decks, Italian service culture and the line's all-inclusive concept. Butler service in every suite, premium wines and spirits, Wi-Fi and gratuities are included. The route links UNESCO World Heritage cities with port capitals.

Route highlights

  • Lisbon: start and finish of the voyage on the Tagus estuary, with Alfama, the Belém Tower and the Jerónimos Monastery.
  • Porto: port wine cellars at Vila Nova de Gaia and the historic old town on the Douro (UNESCO).
  • La Coruña: Galician port city with the Roman Tower of Hercules.
  • Bilbao: Basque metropolis with the Guggenheim Museum on the Nervión.
  • Cádiz: Phoenician-founded port with day excursions to Seville and Jerez.
  • Málaga: Andalusian Mediterranean coast with the Picasso Museum and the Alcazaba.

Early booking advantage: Voyages in 2027 fill quickly - premium cabins are often reserved 18-24 months in advance. An early booking enquiry is non-binding and secures your preferred cabin category.

8 ports · route · approx. 1,200 nautical miles
  • SAT · 13 Nov 2027
    Lissabon · Embarkation
    Departure 18:00

Built on seven hills, Lisbon blends a southern European sense of life with a great history of discovery. From the Tower of Belém, Vasco da Gama and other navigators set out into the unknown - yellow trams and the melancholic Fado still tell the tale today.

  • SUN · 14 Nov 2027
    Oporto (Leixões)
    Arrival 09:00 Departure 18:00

About five kilometres north-west of the centre of Porto lies Leixões as the main port of northern Portugal on the Atlantic. From the deepwater harbour visitors reach Porto's old town, the UNESCO-listed Ribeira with the Dom Luís I bridge by Téophile Seyrig and the famous port wine cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia on the southern bank of the Douro.

  • MON · 15 Nov 2027
    Vigo (Galicien)
    Arrival 08:00 Departure 18:00

Vigo is Spain's largest fishing port and gateway to Galicia. The Cíes Islands off the coast (Atlantic Islands of Galicia National Park) are among the most pristine beaches in Europe; the pilgrim city of Santiago de Compostela is one hour away.

    Cádiz
    Arrival 08:00 Departure 18:00

Cádiz is regarded as the longest continuously inhabited city in western Europe (founded by the Phoenicians around 1,100 BC). The "tacita de plata" (silver cup) lies on a peninsula in the Atlantic - golden La Caleta beach, old city walls and the largest cathedral in Andalusia.

  • THU · 18 Nov 2027
    Casablanca
    Arrival 08:00 Departure 18:00

Casablanca is Morocco's economic heart. The Hassan II Mosque on the Atlantic (one of the tallest minarets in the world at 210 m), the Art Deco architecture of the city centre and the charm of the Quartier Habous make Casablanca North Africa's most modern city.

  • FRI · 19 Nov 2027
    Tangier
    Arrival 08:00 Departure 19:00

Tangier sits on the Strait of Gibraltar, where the Atlantic and the Mediterranean meet. The medina with its narrow lanes, the kasbah above the harbour and the unique play of light between two continents drew painters such as Henri Matisse here.

  • SAT · 20 Nov 2027
    Malaga (Costa del Sol)
    Arrival 08:00 Departure 23:00

Málaga on the Costa del Sol was once a Phoenician trading port and is today one of the most dynamic cultural cities in Andalusia. The Alcazaba fortress, the Picasso Museum (Picasso was born here) and the historic cathedral define the cityscape.

    Portimão
    Arrival 08:00 Departure 18:00

Portimão on the Algarve was a Phoenician settlement and is today one of Portugal's best-known sardine-grilling spots. Praia da Rocha, the spectacular cliffs of Ponta da Piedade in Lagos and the hinterland of cork oak forests define the region.
