The Voyage

Japan from and to Tokyo

A twelve-night round trip on Silver Muse traces Japan's coastal cultures from the Pacific spine into the Inland Sea. Between Tokyo and the southern islands, castle towns, shrines and harbours tell a different story in every region. On board, butlers, premium wines, Wi-Fi and included gratuities frame the days. Ashore there is time for onsen, markets and quiet walks along temple paths. A focused encounter with the Land of the Rising Sun.

Route highlights

  • Tokyo: Skyline, Ginza and quiet shrine gardens as a contrasting opening.
  • Osaka: Street-food city with castle, Dotombori and easy access to Kyoto.
  • Hiroshima: Memorial, Peace Park and the pilgrim island of Miyajima.
  • Kagoshima: Southern Japanese character in the shadow of Sakurajima volcano.
  • Beppu: Hot springs, steaming hells and views across Beppu Bay.
  • Kanazawa: Kenroku-en, the Higashi Chaya geisha quarter and refined lacquer craft.
