Ship

Bali 5.4

Comfort and generous space combined with excellent sailing characteristics without heeling. Aboard this spacious catamaran you will find room and privacy not only in the double cabins with private bathroom. Saloon and cockpit merge into a generous open-air saloon. Favourite spots are the sun loungers on the flybridge and the airy cockpit with benches and sun loungers on the foredeck. A bimini provides shade from the sun. The Bali 5.4 combines Catana's typically purist design with outstanding sailing qualities. The model was awarded Multihull of the Year at her market launch in 2019. She is fitted to a high standard with watermaker and generator.

On board

A relaxed yacht holiday

Simply enjoy. Plenty of space on the flybridge, in the cockpit, on the trampoline net and in the saloon. Cabins with en-suite bathroom, partially air-conditioned.

Atmosphere on board

You and your fellow guests share a relaxed time together. The professional crew (skipper and cook/bosun) look after the guests‘ well-being and safety. You are a guest and are free to unwind – you are not expected to lend a hand. The aim: a relaxed time with fine memories. The catamaran is typically under way for two to four hours a day.

Activities

  • Swimming from the bathing platform at anchorages
  • Shore visits or going ashore on your own
  • Water sports: kayaks or SUP, snorkelling
  • Relaxing on board during the passage to the next anchorage
  • Time on the beach

The adventure of being at sea

Gliding over the waves on the trampoline net. On this cruise aboard a sailing catamaran there is no guarantee that she will proceed under sail – in unfavourable winds she will also proceed under engine.

Simply arrive and unwind.

Region: Seychelles and Mauritius - islands of granite and volcanic rock

What makes this region special

The Seychelles are an archipelago in the western Indian Ocean, a thousand miles off the east coast of Africa. The islands are two worlds: the Outer Islands, remote coral atolls, and the Inner Islands with their famous granite formations. On this voyage you travel through the Inner Islands - small islands of smooth, weathered granite, with beaches regularly counted among the finest in the world and water that, even close to shore, has a clarity that never quite comes across in photographs.

Mahe, the main island, is the starting point; Victoria has the only harbour where you check in. Praslin, an hour to the north, is home to the Vallee de Mai - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a primeval forest with the coco de mer palms that grow nowhere else in the world, whose fruit reaches 25 kilos and is one of the most unusual seeds in the plant kingdom. La Digue has Anse Source d'Argent, a beach whose pink-weathered granite rocks have been photographed so often that you will recognise it at a glance.

Curieuse, the neighbouring island to Praslin, is a nature reserve with around a hundred free-roaming giant tortoises - they cross your path when you are ashore. Aride and Cousin are bird reserves; on Aride a million seabirds breed each year. Felicite and the Sister Islands are small and quiet, ideal for a day at anchor.

The water in the Indian Ocean here is 27 to 29 degrees warm all year round. The coral reefs are partly still intact, and snorkelling visibility is regularly twenty metres. The light has a quality all of the tropics - hard at midday, warm in the late afternoon, and the sunset lasts only minutes. After it the southern sky stands above you, with constellations you never see in Europe.
