Nuuk, the capital of Greenland on the south-western coast of the island, sits nestled between fjords and icebergs on the edge of the Labrador Sea. The Greenland National Museum houses the world-famous mummies of Qilakitsoq from the 15th century; from here visitors can reach the spectacular icefjord landscapes of West Greenland and the distinctive Sermitsiaq mountain, which towers over the cityscape across the fjord.
