The Voyage

Japan from/to Tokyo

Fourteen nights round-trip from Tokyo open the wide arc of Japan and South Korea aboard Silver Moon. You experience the Inland Sea, leaps across to Busan and Jeju and return along the northern Pacific coast. Silversea keeps its all-inclusive promise with butlers, premium wines, Wi-Fi and gratuities. The harbours are left free for temples, markets and walks through historic quarters. A focused tour along the highlights of the Far East.

Route highlights

  • Tokyo: Shrines, sushi and skyline as the frame of the round trip.
  • Kobe: Gateway to Kyoto and Nara, with Wagyu and sake.
  • Hiroshima: Peace Park and Miyajima.
  • Busan: Jagalchi market, beaches and temples.
  • Jeju: Volcanic island with lava tubes and a sunrise peak.
  • Nagasaki: Glover Garden and a Dutch port story.
  • Hakodate: Northern port with a mountain panorama and morning market.

Early booking advantage: Voyages in 2027 fill quickly - premium cabins are often reserved 18-24 months in advance. An early booking enquiry is non-binding and secures your preferred cabin category.

Tokyo is the largest metropolitan area on Earth. Tsukiji market, the quiet Asakusa district with Senso-ji Temple, the pop worlds of Shibuya and Akihabara, plus the view from the Skytree (634 m) - Tokyo combines centuries-old tradition with a high-tech future.

    Kobe
    Arrival 08:00

Kobe is the gateway to one of the finest day trips in Japan: Kyoto lies just 35 minutes away by Shinkansen - with the Arashiyama bamboo grove, the Kinkaku-ji Golden Pavilion and the Fushimi Inari Shrine with its thousands of orange torii. Kobe itself is Japan's Wagyu beef capital.

    Hiroshima
    Arrival 12:00 Departure 23:00

Hiroshima is both a memorial and a modern metropolis. The Peace Memorial Museum, the Atomic Bomb Dome (UNESCO) and the sacred island of Miyajima opposite, with its floating torii gate, make Hiroshima the most culturally important port of western Japan.

  • SAT · 16 Oct 2027
    Nagasaki

Nagasaki, with its Atomic Bomb Park and Peace Museum, recalls 9 August 1945 - the second atomic bomb in history. At the same time, Nagasaki has the longest western history of any Japanese city: the Dutch trading post of Dejima was for 200 years the only European gateway to isolated Japan.

  • SUN · 17 Oct 2027
    Busan
    Arrival 07:00 Departure 23:00

Busan is South Korea's second-largest city and its most important port. Jagalchi Fish Market, the colourful Gamcheon district (Korea's "Machu Picchu") and the Beomeosa temple complex in the Geumjeongsan mountains showcase its maritime and Buddhist heritage.

  • TUE · 19 Oct 2027
    Kanazawa

Kanazawa is one of Japan's best-preserved historic cities (spared in the Second World War). Kenrokuen Garden is considered one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan; the Nagamachi samurai quarter and the Higashi-Chaya geisha district are authentic Edo-period neighbourhoods.

  • WED · 20 Oct 2027

  • THU · 21 Oct 2027
    Hakodate

At the southern tip of the northern Japanese island of Hokkaidō lies the port city of Hakodate on a narrow peninsula between two bays. It was one of the first Japanese harbours opened to Western trade in 1854, as the Russian Orthodox Church and the famous night view from Mount Hakodate over the city lights attest.

    Aomori (Honshu)
    Arrival 10:00 Departure 19:00

Aomori sits at the northern tip of Japan's main island Honshu on the bay of the same name, facing Hokkaido. The city is famed for the Nebuta Matsuri in early August, one of Japan's major summer festivals featuring house-tall illuminated papier-mâché figures.
