Benoa, Bali · Embarkation
Benoa is the main port of the Indonesian island of Bali, located on a narrow peninsula south-east of the capital Denpasar. From here the Hindu temples of Tanah Lot and Uluwatu, the rice terraces of Jatiluwih and the artists' town of Ubud all make worthwhile day trips.
-
Waikelo, Sumba
Waikelo sits on the north-west coast of the Indonesian island of Sumba in the Lesser Sunda Islands. The small harbour is the gateway to traditional Marapu villages and the long beaches of western Sumba.

-
Dili (Timor)
Dili is the capital of the island nation of East Timor on the northern coast of Timor, between Indonesia and Australia. The Portuguese colonial past still shapes the cityscape, and the 27-metre Cristo Rei statue on a peninsula east of town echoes its more famous sister figure in Rio.
-
Maumere, Flores
On the northern coast of the Indonesian island of Flores in East Nusa Tenggara province lies Maumere as the main port of Sikka regency. The former mission centre with its Catholic majority is the starting point for trips to the famous three-coloured lakes of Mount Kelimutu and to traditional ikat-weaving villages of the Sikka people.
