On the French Riviera on the Mediterranean lies Nice as the largest town of the Côte d'Azur in the Alpes-Maritimes. Its landmark is the Promenade des Anglais along the Baie des Anges, lined by the pastel-coloured Vieux Nice old town, the baroque Sainte-Réparate cathedral and the Castle Hill of Colline du Château with views across the entire bay.

  • Portofino

The most elegant fishing village on the Riviera Ligure and a favourite anchorage for the international yachting world: pastel houses around the harbour basin, small churches on the hill, and walking trails through the Monte Portofino nature park.

  • Menton

On the French Riviera right on the Italian border lies Menton with the mildest microclimate on the entire Côte d'Azur. The annual lemon festival in February and the pastel-coloured old town with the baroque Basilica Saint-Michel-Archange make it France's southernmost gem on the Ligurian Sea.

  • Antibes

Antibes lies between Nice and Cannes and has the largest yacht harbour in Europe (Port Vauban). The old town with the Picasso Museum in the Château Grimaldi and the wild Cap d'Antibes peninsula are classic Côte d'Azur highlights.

  • Cannes

Cannes is the film festival city par excellence. The Croisette with the Festival Palace, the Vieux Port with its luxury yachts and the offshore Lérins Islands (home to the former prison of the Man in the Iron Mask on Sainte-Marguerite) give Cannes many sides.

  • Saint-Tropez

Saint-Tropez shifts depending on the season: a picturesque fishing harbour with the old citadel and the Place des Lices as an authentic Provence town on the one hand - a luxury yacht anchorage with international society on the other. The Musée de l'Annonciade houses important post-impressionist works.

  • Cassis

Cassis lies on the French Mediterranean coast east of Marseille, framed by France's highest sea cliff, Cap Canaille. On its doorstep begin the Calanques, fjord-like limestone inlets of turquoise water, and on its slopes ripens the dry white wine of Provence's oldest AOC vineyard.

The Ship

Le Ponant

Le Ponant is the essence of the Ponant idea: a three-masted sailing yacht for 64 guests, gliding under sail through waters closed to motorised ships. French cuisine, 32 crew, an atmosphere like a private yacht.

In the Mediterranean, Le Ponant glides through Corsican coves, along the Côte d'Azur and to the Balearics - waters where her small size becomes a decisive advantage.
