  • Pointe-à-Pitre · Embarkation

Pointe-à-Pitre is the largest town in Guadeloupe. The lively Marché Saint-Antoine, the jewellery craft and the historic colonial buildings define the centre; the surroundings offer the two island wings of Grande-Terre (flat, beaches) and Basse-Terre (mountainous, rainforest).

  • Grande Anse d'Arlet
  • Tobago Cays (Tobago Cays)

The Tobago Cays are five uninhabited small islands in the Grenadines, sheltered by a vast coral reef. Turquoise lagoon water, sea turtles for snorkelling and untouched nature make the Tobago Cays perhaps the most beautiful anchorage in the Caribbean.

  • Sandy Island, Carriacou

Sandy Island is a tiny, uninhabited sand cay off the coast of Carriacou in the Caribbean. White coral sand, turquoise water and palm trees make it a classic postcard scene.

  • Port Elizabeth, Bequia

Port Elizabeth on Bequia (Grenadines) is the most charming Caribbean harbour for yachts. The small bay with wooden schooner boatyards on the beach, the turtle conservation programme and the whaling tradition make Port Elizabeth unique.

  • Kreuzen entlang der Pitons
  • At sea
  • Portsmouth

Portsmouth on England's south coast has been home to the Royal Navy for 800 years. The historic dockyard with Nelson's flagship HMS Victory, the Tudor ship Mary Rose and HMS Warrior (the first iron-clad warship) make Portsmouth a global naval port.

  • Marie-Galante

This almost circular Caribbean island in the Guadeloupe archipelago is famous for its rum distilleries Bielle, Bellevue and Père Labat, and for the ruins of historic sugar windmills. Long sandy beaches such as Plage de la Feuillère characterise this quieter sister island.

The Ship

Le Ponant

Le Ponant is the essence of the Ponant idea: a three-masted sailing yacht for 64 guests, gliding under sail through waters closed to motorised ships. French cuisine, 32 crew, an atmosphere like a private yacht.

In the Caribbean, Le Ponant sails through the Grenadines and the Lesser Antilles - with the elegance of a French yacht and the spirit of a sailing ship.
