Gran Canaria → Casablanca
Ten nights through six volcanic islands of the Canaries and Madeira to the Moroccan Atlantic coast, aboard Le Boreal. The itinerary distils the contrasts of the Macaronesian archipelago: from the Timanfaya lava fields on Lanzarote to the laurel forest of Garajonay on La Gomera, from Teide on Tenerife to the Caldera de Taburiente on La Palma. The marina platform and Zodiacs allow smaller landings before Safi and Casablanca bring the Moroccan mainland into view. Premium all-inclusive service with French cuisine accompanies the voyage.
Route highlights
- Arrecife (Lanzarote): gateway to the surreal volcanic landscape of Timanfaya National Park with its lunar aesthetic.
- Fuerteventura: vast dune landscapes and endless Atlantic beaches on the second largest Canary island.
- Santa Cruz de Tenerife: at the foot of Teide, at 3,718 metres the highest mountain in Spain.
- San Sebastian de La Gomera: starting point for the UNESCO laurel forest of Garajonay, a relic of pre-glacial vegetation.
- Santa Cruz de La Palma: colonial old town beneath the Caldera de Taburiente, on the island with Europe's clearest starry sky.
- Funchal (Madeira): subtropical island famed for its legendary levada walking paths.
- Casablanca: disembarkation in Morocco's largest city beside the immense Hassan II Mosque on the Atlantic.
Early booking advantage: Voyages in 2027 fill quickly - premium cabins are often reserved 18-24 months in advance. An early booking enquiry is non-binding and secures your preferred cabin category.

Destination
Le Boréal
Le Boréal was the first ship of the Odyssée class and marked Ponant's move into expedition cruising. 264 guests, ice-reinforced hull, two restaurants - a ship built equally for the passage to the North Cape and the islands of the South Seas.
The Canaries are for Le Boréal a transitional sailing ground between Europe and the tropics - volcanic landscapes, spring-like climate and ports with Canarian character.
