The Voyage

Baja California & Sea of Cortez from/to Cabo San Lucas

This ten-night round voyage aboard Le Bellot runs in mid-March from Cabo San Lucas into the Sea of Cortez. The 184-guest Explorer-class ship, with her ice-strengthened hull and sixteen Zodiacs, is built for the desert islands and lagoons of Baja California. In March you still encounter grey whales in Bahía Magdalena, along with sea lions, mantas and dolphin pods around the northern island groups. The Blue Eye underwater lounge in the bow reveals the rich life of the Sea of Cortez. Full board, beverages and excursions are part of the premium all-inclusive concept.

Route highlights

  • Cabo San Lucas: El Arco rock arch at the peninsula's tip.
  • Bahía Magdalena: Pacific lagoon with continuing grey whale activity into late March.
  • Loreto: oldest mission town in Baja California, founded in 1697.
  • Coronado Island: volcanic island within the UNESCO-listed Gulf of California protected area.
  • La Paz: capital of Baja California Sur on the Sea of Cortez.
  • Isla los Islotes: rocky islet with one of the largest sea-lion colonies in the Sea of Cortez.
