The Voyage

Oranjestad to St George's

7 nights under white sails aboard the Star Clipper, from Oranjestad to Saint George. The voyage takes you through the Caribbean with volcanic peaks, colonial fortresses and unspoilt bays. Steady north-easterly trade winds turn every leg between the islands into a true sailing passage.

Ports of call

  • Willemstad
  • Canouan Insel
  • Bequia Insel
  • Tobago Cays Inseln

Life on board

The Star Clipper is a classic fully rigged ship with four masts and 16 sails, 170 guests, sporty and unhurried in atmosphere, no dress code, open seating and two pools. Guests are welcome to climb the rigging with the crew or take the helm.

Route Highlights

  • Willemstad (Curaçao): Old town with pastel colonial buildings, UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997
  • Canouan: Quiet Grenadines island with an extensive coral reef and white sand beaches
  • Bequia: Largest of the Grenadines, with a centuries-old whaling tradition and Port Elizabeth
  • Tobago Cays: Marine Park with five uninhabited islands around Horseshoe Reef
  • Saint George (Grenada): Harbour town with Fort George from 1705, a hub of the nutmeg trade

Early booking advantage: Voyages in 2028 fill quickly - premium cabins are often reserved 18-24 months in advance. An early booking enquiry is non-binding and secures your preferred cabin category.

How the route could go:

Oranjestad Willemstad Canouan (island) Bequia (island) Tobago Cays (islands) St George's
6 ports · route · approx. 1,760 nautical miles
  • Oranjestad (Aruba) · Embarkation

Oranjestad is the capital of Aruba, the driest Caribbean island, with more than 200 days of sunshine a year. Arikok National Park with its cactus landscape and cave paintings, Palm Beach with its fine silver sand and the Alto Vista national monument are Aruba's main attractions.

  • Willemstad (Curaçao)

Willemstad on Curaçao is one of the most vibrant UNESCO World Heritage cityscapes in the Caribbean: the colourful Dutch colonial buildings of the Handelskade are reflected in the harbour - in the 17th century Curaçao was the trading centre of the Dutch Caribbean. Curaçao is also known for the best coral diving in the Lesser Antilles.

  • Canouan (island)

Canouan belongs to the Grenadines of St Vincent and is a small, tranquil island of white sand beaches fringed by a coral reef. Turquoise bays and its intimate scale make it an exclusive retreat.

  • Bequia (island)

Bequia is the second-largest of the Grenadines and one of the most unspoilt Caribbean stops. The small boatbuilding tradition (wooden schooners are still built on beach yards today) and the turtle conservation programme are unique.

  • Tobago Cays (islands)

The Tobago Cays are five uninhabited small islands in the Grenadines, sheltered by a vast coral reef. Turquoise lagoon water, sea turtles for snorkelling and untouched nature make the Tobago Cays perhaps the most beautiful anchorage in the Caribbean.

  • St George's · Disembarkation

St George's is the capital of Grenada and is considered one of the most beautiful natural harbours in the Caribbean. Pastel-coloured houses, old Fort George and the spice market give the town its distinctive character.

The route of a sailing voyage may change without giving rise to mutual claims.

Shore Excursions

Selected highlights at the ports on this route. Water sports – kayaking, snorkelling, paddleboarding, windsurfing – are complimentary directly from the ship. Shore excursions are bookable on board.
