Charlotteville is a fishing village on sheltered Man o' War Bay at the north-eastern tip of the Caribbean island of Tobago. The deeply indented bay is one of the Caribbean's finest natural harbours, and in the hinterland lies the oldest legally protected rainforest in the western hemisphere.

Tobago Cays (islands)
The Tobago Cays are five uninhabited small islands in the Grenadines, sheltered by a vast coral reef. Turquoise lagoon water, sea turtles for snorkelling and untouched nature make the Tobago Cays perhaps the most beautiful anchorage in the Caribbean.

Carriacou
Carriacou is the largest of the Grenadines and belongs to Grenada. Traditional Caribbean in feel, home to old wooden boatbuilding yards and the tombolo sandbar between Carriacou and Sandy Island - one of the least discovered islands in the southern Caribbean.

Canouan belongs to the Grenadines of St Vincent and is a small, tranquil island of white sand beaches fringed by a coral reef. Turquoise bays and its intimate scale make it an exclusive retreat.

Bequia (island)
Bequia is the second-largest of the Grenadines and one of the most unspoilt Caribbean stops. The small boatbuilding tradition (wooden schooners are still built on beach yards today) and the turtle conservation programme are unique.

Saint-Pierre (Martinique)
Saint-Pierre on Martinique was once the "Paris of the Caribbean" - until 1902, when Mount Pelée erupted and buried the town of 30,000 inhabitants under ash within minutes. The underwater museum with sunken ships from the catastrophe makes Saint-Pierre one of the most fascinating dive sites in the Caribbean today. By the harbour, the building of the old exchange still stands, and the ruins of the theatre recall the town's glamorous past. French flair drifts through the lanes, with the scent of a bakery beneath red awnings.

Soufriere
Soufrière sits at the foot of the UNESCO World Heritage Pitons - the striking volcanic cones that rise sheer from the sea and are the symbol of St Lucia. Hot sulphur springs, tropical rainforest and cocoa plantations surround the small port town. At the nearby Sulphur Springs you drive right up to the steaming sulphur vents in the crater - the world's only drive-in volcano.

Mayreau is the smallest inhabited island of the Grenadines. Salt Whistle Bay - a perfect crescent of beach with crystal-clear water - is considered one of the finest bays in the Caribbean.
