Catamaran Voyage Raiatea to Bora Bora
Five days in French Polynesia among the Society Islands. We begin in Raiatea, one of the cradles of Polynesian culture, and make our way through the sheltered lagoons of Tahaa and Huahine to legendary Bora Bora with her striking Mount Otemanu.
Turquoise lagoons, coral gardens for snorkelling and manageable legs that leave plenty of time for anchoring, swimming and exploring.

Region: Pacific (Polynesia)
What makes this region special
The shorter Polynesia itinerary: five nights from Raiatea across the shared lagoon with Tahaa and on to Bora Bora. The ideal format for guests who want to sample Polynesia, or add a yacht experience after an island stay, without the full eleven-night tour. You concentrate on the three islands of the inner lagoon world - Raiatea, Tahaa, Bora Bora - where the atmosphere is calmest and the lagoons most sheltered.
Raiatea, the second-largest of the Society Islands, is the starting point. It is home to the Marae Taputapuatea, Polynesia's most important ancient sacred site and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Raiatea and Tahaa share the same lagoon, protected by the same outer reef. Tahaa is known as the vanilla island - sixty per cent of Polynesian vanilla grows here, and the air along the paths smells of nothing else. At the coral garden between Tahaa and the outer reef you snorkel over shoals of reef fish and dense coral, in a current you can simply drift along with.
Bora Bora needs no introduction. The lagoon around Mount Otemanu shifts between deep blue and turquoise depending on the light. Manta rays and blacktip reef sharks glide through the shallows. Bloody Mary's, the open-air restaurant on the beach, has been a Polynesian classic since 1979.
The water here is a warm 26 to 28 degrees all year round. The sunset in the tropical Pacific is brief and vivid.
