Grenadines Catamaran Cruise

7 nights Vessel: Bali 5.4 Up to 12 guests on board

The Grenadines rank among the world’s most popular sailing grounds: a chain of small, almost untouched islands stretching between St Vincent and Grenada. Tobago Cays, Mayreau, Union Island, Bequia.

Seven days between sister islands with classic stops in the Tobago Cays (a marine reserve and turtle hotspot), at Union Island and in Bequia, the traditional whalers‘ island. Grilled lobster is everyday fare in this region.

Vessel

Bali 5.4

Comfort and generous space combined with excellent sailing characteristics without heeling. Aboard this spacious catamaran you will find room and privacy not only in the double cabins with private bathroom. Saloon and cockpit merge into a generous open-air saloon. Favourite spots are the sun loungers on the flybridge and the airy cockpit with benches and sun loungers on the foredeck. A bimini provides shade from the sun. The Bali 5.4 combines Catana's typically purist design with outstanding sailing qualities. The model was awarded Multihull of the Year at her market launch in 2019. She is well equipped with watermaker and generator.

On board

A relaxed yachting holiday

Simply enjoy. Plenty of space on the flybridge, in the cockpit, on the trampoline nets and in the saloon. Cabins with en-suite bathrooms, partially air-conditioned.

Atmosphere on board

You and your fellow travellers spend a relaxed time together. The professional crew (skipper and cook/deckhand) look after the wellbeing and safety of guests. You are a guest and may simply unwind – you are not expected to help out actively. The aim: a relaxed time with lasting memories. The catamaran is typically underway for two to four hours a day.

Activities

  • Swimming from the bathing platform at anchor stops
  • Organised shore excursions or going ashore on your own
  • Watersports: kayaks or SUP, snorkelling
  • Relaxing on board during the passage to the next anchorage
  • Time on the beach

A maritime adventure

Glide above the waves in the trampoline nets. On a cruise aboard a sailing catamaran there is no guarantee that the vessel will be under sail – in unfavourable wind conditions she will also proceed under engine.

Simply arrive and unwind.

Cabins

Modern, light-filled cabins aboard the Bali 5.4

She offers 6 cabins for 12 guests. Each cabin has a private bathroom with shower and WC. Standard cabins are located amidships in the hulls. The Superior Cabins are positioned forward or aft in the hull, are slightly larger and brighter.

Route

The markers show possible anchorages. The skipper selects the specific places on site, depending on current conditions. Route, stops and order may change at the skipper's discretion. No mutual claims arise from route adjustments. Claims are not excluded where the route change is wilfully caused by the guest.

Day by day

How your route could unfold:

  1. Day 1

Le Marin, Martinique - Night passage south

Embarkation in the late afternoon at Marina Le Marin in the south of Martinique - the first marina of the Lesser Antilles, set in a sheltered bay among mangroves, reefs and small islands. Welcome on board and cabin handover. Overnight, we make our way south along the leeward coasts of Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent towards Bequia.

  2. Day 2

    Bequia, Admiralty Bay

In the early morning we reach Bequia ("Bekquay"), the northernmost island of the Grenadines. We drop anchor in Admiralty Bay. Swim, snorkel, paddle. Port Elizabeth is a lively small town; the old whaling tradition and the hand-carved model ships are on display in the galleries along the harbour. Lunch on board, with an island visit in the afternoon.

  3. Day 3

    Bequia - Mayreau

We set a southerly course for the smallest inhabited island of the Grenadines - around 300 residents. The single village sits on a hill with a panoramic view over the Tobago Cays and Union Island. Colourful wooden cottages, small bars, a stone church. An island walk or beach time. Overnight at anchor.

  4. Day 4

    Tobago Cays

A short passage to the Tobago Cays - the highlight of the archipelago. Five uninhabited islands set in a shallow lagoon, sheltered by the Horseshoe Reef beyond. Snorkelling with giant turtles and stingrays, white sand beaches, watersports. The vegetation on the islets is made up of cacti, frangipani and endemic shrubs. Overnight in the marine reserve. Optional: a beach BBQ with lobster (subject to season) or lambi (Caribbean conch) and fish.

  5. Day 5

Tobago Cays - Bequia - Cumberland Bay (Saint Vincent)

After breakfast we make our way back to Bequia, with lunch on board and a stroll through the fruit and vegetable market. In the afternoon we head on to Cumberland Bay on the leeward side of Saint Vincent - a deeply incised bay with dense vegetation right down to the water's edge.

  6. Day 6

    Saint Vincent - Saint Lucia

Breakfast on board. Optional excursion into the interior of Saint Vincent - traditional villages, a panoramic drive along the Caribbean coast, a swim beneath a waterfall. Lunch during the passage along the leeward side towards the two Pitons - the landmark of Saint Lucia, twin volcanic cones rising straight from the sea. Evening on board.

  7. Day 7

    Saint Lucia - Sainte-Anne, Martinique

Breakfast on board. Optional: an island tour around the Pitons - the historic village of La Soufrière, the botanical garden with sulphur springs and the crater of the still-active volcano. Lunch during the passage to the leeward side of Martinique, with the evening at anchor in Sainte-Anne.

  8. Day 8

    Sainte-Anne - Le Marin

Breakfast on board. A short passage to Marina Le Marin, with disembarkation in the morning.
