The Voyage

From the Danish North Sea coast through the Skagerrak and Kattegat into the Baltic Sea to Copenhagen

Five nights under sail from the Danish North Sea coast around the tip of Jutland into the Baltic to Copenhagen. On this active passage you are part of the crew: you take the helm, work the square sails and sail through the Skagerrak and Kattegat, past the rugged coast of northern Jutland. No port hopping, no set programme – just the ship, the wind and the open sea, until the spires of Copenhagen finally rise on the horizon. A voyage for everyone who wants to experience sailing first-hand and feel the sea with all their senses.

How the route could go:

  • Esbjerg · Embarkation

Esbjerg is Denmark's largest North Sea port and an important gateway to the sea. Visible from afar are the four white giants of "Man Meets the Sea" standing on the coast before the town.

  • Copenhagen · Disembarkation

Copenhagen is the capital of Denmark and considered one of the most liveable cities in the world. The Little Mermaid by the water, the colourful Nyhavn harbour front, Christiansborg Palace and the culinary revolution around Noma make Copenhagen both modern and historic.

The route of a sailing voyage may change without giving rise to mutual claims.

How many guests sail on the Stad Amsterdam?

A maximum of 28 guests - a small, close-knit community on board. You sail as a trainee: the experienced permanent crew introduces you to sailing, and you lend a hand yourself in the watch system.

Can the itinerary change?

Are there specials for early bookers or solo travellers?

Yes. Early bookers receive discounts for timely booking. Solo travellers often benefit from a reduced or waived single supplement. Simply mention your preferences in the enquiry.
