Santorini - properly Thira - sits on the rim of an extinct volcanic crater. The white houses of Fira and Oia with their blue domes, the breathtaking view into the caldera and the deep-black volcanic sand of its beaches make this one of the most iconic destinations in the Mediterranean.

Ios (Ios)
Ios is the Greek party island with white cubic houses and 365 chapels (one for each day). At sunrise the town is silent, at sunset it pulses - Homer's grave in Plakotos and fine sandy beaches round off the mix.

Amorgos is the easternmost island of the Greek Cyclades, a rocky outcrop of whitewashed houses, barren mountains and deep blue bays. The 11th-century Panagia Chozoviotissa monastery clings like a swallow's nest to a 300-metre cliff above the Aegean.

Paros / Naxos
These two neighbouring Cycladic islands in the central Aegean form a classic island-hopping pair. Naxos, the largest of the Cyclades, impresses with the ancient Portara gateway and mountain villages, while smaller Paros charms with white marble and the harbour village of Naoussa.

Folegandros (Folegandros)
Folegandros is one of the quietest and most unspoilt of the Cyclades. The capital Chora perched on a cliff above the sea, the striking Panagia monastery and tiny whitewashed cave chapels make the island a genuine Aegean secret.
