Nuuk (Godthaab) to Iqaluit
This fourteen-night Silver Wind Expedition voyage again runs from Nuuk on the Greenlandic west coast across the Davis Strait to Iqaluit on Baffin Island. The route includes Evighed Fjord, Itivdleq, the Eqip Sermia glacier and Ilulissat with its UNESCO icefjord. In Canada it visits Qikiqtarjuaq, Auyuittuq National Park and Arctic islands such as Lady Franklin Island, Monumental Island and Akpatok Island. Nuuk, the capital of Greenland on the south-western coast of the island, sits nestled between fjords and icebergs on the edge of the Labrador Sea. The Greenland National Museum houses the world-famous mummies of Qilakitsoq from the 15th century; from here visitors can reach the spectacular icefjord landscapes of West Greenland and the distinctive Sermitsiaq mountain, which towers over the cityscape across the fjord.
