The Voyage

East Greenland & Iceland from/to Reykjavík

From Reykjavík this fifteen-night round trip crosses the Denmark Strait to the largest fjord systems of East Greenland. The Silver Endeavour, carrying 200 guests and rated to PC6 polar class, is one of the most ice-capable expedition ships in the fleet, with a helideck and a Zodiac fleet for landings in thinly settled bays. The arc takes in Scoresby Sound, the largest fjord system on Earth, as well as Kaiser Franz Joseph Fjord and King Oscar Fjord with their steep table mountains and inland-ice margins. Butler service in every suite and a seasoned expedition team on board round out the premium standard.

Route highlights

  • Reykjavík: Iceland's departure and return harbour, with Hallgrímskirkja, Harpa and the geothermal Reykjanes peninsula on the doorstep.
  • Ittoqqortoormiit: the smallest inhabited settlement of East Greenland, at the entrance to Scoresby Sound, with a traditional hunting culture.
  • Scoresby Sound: the largest fjord system on Earth, with calving tidewater glaciers and tabular icebergs.
  • Kaiser Franz Joseph Fjord: a deeply cut fjord with red sandstone walls and musk-ox herds on the slopes.
  • King Oscar Fjord: a branching system with iceberg passages and landing options on Traill Ø and Ymer Ø.
  • Zodiac and helideck operations: daily excursions among icebergs, with helideck options for scenic flights subject to visibility and weather.
