Marking the close of the sailing season, this voyage sails from and back to Göteborg into the archipelago of western Sweden, a labyrinth of thousands of rocky islets strung along the Swedish west coast. Aboard the Eye of the Wind you experience golden October at sea, once the summer yachts have long gone and the skerries lie in clear autumn light.
From Göteborg the windjammer glides through the busy shipping channel out into the Kattegat, past container ships and ferries. After varied days under sail the ship anchors in sheltered bays and calls at the fortress island of Marstrand with its Carlsten citadel. Passing the islands of Tjörn and Orust, she carries on northwards to the latitude of Lysekil, where the Eye of the Wind enters the Gullmaren, Sweden’s only fjord. On the way back to Göteborg the ship makes a further stop in the harbour of Mollösund or anchors off the southern side of the island of Klaverön. The route described may change at short notice depending on wind and weather.
Included: 7 nights aboard the Eye of the Wind in a comfortable double cabin, full board with all meals plus water, coffee and tea.
Not included: travel to and from the ship, shore excursions, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages.
