From Riga to Danzig
Embarkation: 29.08.2026, 19:00 in Riga
Disembarkation: 06.09.2026, 10:00 in Gdańsk
Eight nights under sail carry you aboard Eye of the Wind from Riga, Latvia’s lively capital, to the historic port city of Gdańsk. This summer voyage follows the Baltic amber coast across the open sea, past endless sandy beaches, dune landscapes and dense coastal forests.
From Riga the ship makes its way down the Daugava to the Baltic Sea. The course runs along the coasts of Latvia and Lithuania, where Liepāja and Klaipėda lie along the route as possible ports of call. Endless beaches and dunes stay visible as a fine strip on the horizon while the ship holds its course across the open water.
Those who wish can lend a hand setting, taking in and trimming the sails, take a turn at the helm or join in the traditional seamanship on board. Taking part is entirely voluntary, and the passage can just as easily be enjoyed from the deck. The voyage finally reaches Gdańsk in Poland.
Included: Eight nights in a double cabin, full board with all meals plus water, coffee and tea, running hot and cold water with shower and toilet in every cabin, bed linen and towels, air conditioning, saloon with TV/DVD and an on-board library.
Not included: Travel to and from the ship, shore excursions, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages.

How the route could go:
-
Riga · Embarkation
Riga is home to the world's largest collection of Art Nouveau architecture - over 700 buildings shape the centre. The Old Town (UNESCO World Heritage) with the House of the Blackheads, the Cathedral and the Powder Tower, combined with the lively market hall in the former Zeppelin hangars, make Riga the most culturally rich Baltic city.
-
Liepāja
Port city on Latvia's western coast on the Baltic Sea and the country's third-largest city. Its long sandy beach and the former naval town of Karosta with its Russian Orthodox cathedral make it an unusual destination.
-
Klaipėda
Lithuania's third-largest city and only deep-sea port, opposite the Curonian Spit on the Baltic. The German-influenced old town of half-timbered houses recalls its days as Memel, with the Ännchen von Tharau statue as its symbol.
-
Danzig · Disembarkation
Danzig (Gdańsk) lies at the mouth of the Motława on the Gulf of Gdańsk on the Polish Baltic coast. Its reconstructed old town with rich merchant houses along the Long Embankment is a landmark of its Hanseatic past, while in its shipyard in 1980 the Solidarity movement set off the collapse of communist rule in Eastern Europe.
