Zakynthos, Nafpaktos, Galaxidi, Corinth Canal, Athens/Porto Rafti
This sailing voyage runs from the Ionian Sea through the Gulf of Corinth into the Saronic Gulf. Alongside quiet harbours and chances to swim, longer legs and the passage of the Corinth Canal are part of the experience, with some sailing by night.
Highlights
- Zakynthos: A green Ionian island as the starting point, with pale chalk cliffs.
- Nafpaktos: A picturesque round Venetian harbour with fortress walls on the Gulf of Corinth.
- Galaxidi: A quiet captains’ town of neoclassical shipowners’ houses, close to Delphi.
- Corinth Canal: The striking transit through the narrow, steep-walled waterway.
A yacht voyage with beautiful stops for watersports and time ashore, but also longer legs sailed in part through the night. For everyone who enjoys the sailing itself.
Early booking advantage: Voyages in 2027 fill quickly - premium cabins are often reserved 18-24 months in advance. An early booking enquiry is non-binding and secures your preferred cabin category.
The Route
Zakynthos
7 nights
Athens/Porto Rafti
How the route could go:
-
Zakynthos · Embarkation
Zakynthos is the southernmost of the Ionian Islands. Smugglers Cove with its stranded shipwreck is one of the world's best-known beach motifs; the sheltered Bay of Laganas is a nesting ground for loggerhead turtles.
-
Nafpaktos
Venetian Nafpaktos lies on the Gulf of Patras and is famous as the site of the naval Battle of Lepanto (1571). The fully preserved Venetian castle with its double chain across the harbour entrance is one of the most remarkable installations on the Adriatic coast.
-
Galaxidi
On the Gulf of Corinth in central Greece lies the historic harbour town of Galaxidi, south of Delphi at the foot of Mount Parnassus. The elegant 19th-century captains' houses bear witness to its former wealth as a shipping centre, and the Maritime Museum documents the golden era of sailing freighters.
-
Corinth Canal
-
Athens/Porto Rafti · Disembarkation
The route of a sailing voyage may change without giving rise to mutual claims.
