The challenge trophy of the ivent-sailing Baltic regattas, an original design from 2009. Two identical trophies were made, one for the spring regatta and one for the autumn regatta.
From 2009 onwards, twenty-five regattas on the Baltic captivated sailors from Germany and Switzerland. Twice a year the crews lined up at the start, always for the same two challenge trophies. A close-knit community, shared voyages, sometimes heavy weather, always stories for the evening.
The reward for the winners, alongside glory and honour, was a valuable challenge trophy, a one-of-a-kind piece designed and forged by the Berlin artist Achim Kuehn.
The opening: 2009
The first autumn regatta in 2009 marked the beginning of the ivent-sailing regatta tradition. Joerg Braatz carried the trophy home, the first name on a list that would connect a sailing community over twelve years. The following spring of 2010, Norbert Bass from Neubrandenburg secured the trophy.
The 2014 spring regatta on film
For those who would like to feel the spirit of the Baltic regattas: this film of the 2014 spring regatta shows what the tradition was all about. Around twenty-five yachts sailed between Warnemuende and the island of Ruegen for the coveted challenge trophy, the start of the season, competition and good company. The trophy on this occasion went to Bert Siebrand.

The heavy-weather legend: 2016
The 2016 spring regatta went down as one of the toughest in the history of the series. In heavy weather Juergen Schornbaum kept his nerve and won the trophy, a victory still talked about in sailing circles long afterwards.
The anniversary: 2018
With the anniversary year of 2018, the regattas reached a level of maturity that went well beyond a local event. Eric Neumann won in the spring, Andreas Vocke in the autumn.
