This thirteen-night Silver Wind Expedition voyage runs from Iqaluit on Baffin Island along the Labrador Atlantic coast down to Boston. The route includes Lady Franklin Island, Lower Savage Islands, Torngat Mountains National Park, Saglek Bay, Hebron Fjord and Hopedale, then Red Bay on the Labrador side and Woody Point in Newfoundland. Yarmouth in Nova Scotia and Grand Manan Island off New Brunswick mark the transition into the Bay of Fundy. The expedition team leads Zodiac landings, ice and weather permitting.

Iqaluit

Grönland – Treibende Eisberge

On Frobisher Bay on Baffin Island in Canada's territory of Nunavut lies its capital Iqaluit with around 8,000 inhabitants. Canada's northernmost capital combines traditional Inuit culture with the modern architecture of the Nunatta Sunakkutaangit Museum and the striking tent-shaped St. Jude's Anglican Cathedral.

Lady Franklin Island

Uninhabited rocky islet in the Cumberland Sound off the east coast of Baffin Island in Canada's Nunavut. Steep cliffs hold large colonies of thick-billed murres and black-legged kittiwakes, while polar bears hunt in the surrounding waters.

Small island group in Hudson Strait off the south-east coast of Baffin Island in Canada's Nunavut. Bare, steep cliffs host colonies of thick-billed murres, while polar bears and bowhead whales hunt in the icy currents.

Deeply incised fjord in the north of the Canadian province of Labrador, framed by the rugged Torngat Mountains. The uninhabited landscape of Torngat Mountains National Park is home to caribou, polar bears and Inuit summer camps.

On the northern coast of Labrador in Canada, Saglek Bay opens onto the edge of Torngat Mountains National Park. Steep fjords, caribou herds and a long Inuit history shape this uninhabited region.

Hopedale

On the north coast of Labrador in Canada lies the Inuit community of Hopedale on the Atlantic. The historic Moravian Mission station from 1782 with its simple wooden building is the oldest wooden structure in eastern Canada and is one of Canada's National Historic Sites, with exhibits on 200 years of mission history among the Inuit.

Red Bay

On the southern coast of Labrador in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador along the Strait of Belle Isle, Basque whalers operated North America's earliest industrial-scale whale-oil station here between 1530 and 1600. The archaeological remains are now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Yarmouth

Yarmouth sits on the south-western tip of the Canadian province of Nova Scotia on the Atlantic. The ferry harbour connects Canada with Bar Harbor in Maine and is the gateway to the Acadian coast.

Grand Manan

Grand Manan in the Bay of Fundy off New Brunswick is known for whale watching, its lighthouses and the harvesting of edible dulse seaweed. Steep cliffs drop to the nutrient-rich waters of the bay.

Boston

Boston is the capital of Massachusetts on the US Atlantic coast and, at over 380 years old, one of America's oldest cities. The Freedom Trail leads past 16 historic sites of the American Revolution, from Boston Common to the Bunker Hill Monument.
