Sopers Hole at the western tip of Tortola is a classic Caribbean yacht harbour. The colourful wooden houses, Pusser's Rum Bar and the sheltered bay make the place the most atmospheric marina in the British Virgin Islands.
On the Atlantic coast of the northern Dominican Republic at the foot of the 793-metre Pico Isabel de Torres tabletop mountain, this port combines a Victorian town centre with the Caribbean's second-longest seafront promenade. The 16th-century Spanish fortress of San Felipe watches over the bay.
As the main island of the Turks and Caicos in the Caribbean, Grand Turk is home to the capital Cockburn Town with just under 5,000 inhabitants.
