Osaka

Osaka is the gateway to Nara (45 minutes) with free-roaming deer and the Todai-ji temple with the largest bronze Buddha in Japan, as well as to Kyoto. Osaka itself is Japan's kitchen capital - takoyaki, okonomiyaki and the Dotonbori canal form the liveliest food quarter in Japan.

Kochi

Kochi on the Malabar Coast of southern India brings together Chinese fishing nets along the harbour, Portuguese colonial buildings in Fort Kochi, an old Jewish synagogue (1568) and Dutch canals. One of the most culturally layered port cities in the Indian Ocean.

Miyanoura - Yakushima

Miyanoura is the main port of the Japanese island of Yakushima, whose ancient cedar forests are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The thousand-year-old yakusugi trees and the rain-soaked, moss-green mountain forest make the island unique.
