Senegal and Guinea-Bissau: Dakar and Bissagos Archipelago

8 nights · 13. December - 21. December 2026 · Dakar → Dakar

Discover the voyage↓

Eight nights aboard Le Champlain take you to one of West Africa's most untouched island regions: the Bissagos Archipelago off the coast of Guinea-Bissau, recognised by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve. From Dakar you head into a maze of around eighty islands and islets, sparsely inhabited by the Bijagós people with their matrilineal culture. Mangroves, salt lagoons and sandbanks shape this region, home to saltwater hippos, marine turtles and a rich bird life. The sixteen Zodiacs and marina of Le Champlain show their strengths where larger ships cannot reach.
