Peninsula classic in late January: from Ushuaia, Le Boréal crosses the Drake Passage to the Antarctic Peninsula. Landings follow IAATO standards with no more than 100 guests ashore. The ship is ice-strengthened but not an icebreaker, an important distinction from the Charcot class which operates into pack-ice. The naturalist team and Zodiac fleet support the programme, with the stern marina platform serving as the launch point.
